The Germany Workshop, run in partnership with Tourism Ireland, brings together 30 British tourism businesses and destinations with 31 German buyers to attend meetings and learn about the latest products and innovations on offer from Britain’s tourism industry.
The suppliers attending include destination management companies, hotels, visitor attractions, retailers and tour operators from across the nations and regions.
VisitBritain CEO Patricia Yates said:
“I am so pleased to see so many businesses and destinations joining us in Frankfurt to showcase our fantastic tourism offer to the valuable German market. This workshop is a chance to promote our warm welcome and an opportunity to work with the German travel trade to broaden itineraries, encouraging visitors to book a trip now and explore more of our nations and regions.”
The workshop comes as VisitBritain gets set to roll out its ‘Starring GREAT Britain’ campaign. Launching in early 2025, the campaign is using the powerful draw of film and TV locations and places seen-on-screen with Britain’s regional destinations the star of the show, inspiring more visitors from Germany to discover more and stay longer. Latest research by VisitBritain shows that among German travellers considering visiting the UK, 85% are interested in visiting film and TV locations during their trip.
Germany is a very important inbound visitor market for the UK. VisitBritain is forecasting 3.2 million visits from Germany in 2024 with those visitors spending £2 billion on their trips.
